Charotar University of Science and Technology (CHARUSAT) has been conceived by Shri Charotar Moti Sattavis Patidar Kelavani Mandal – a not for profit premier education trust of India having a social lineage of more than 123 years.
CHARUSAT has been established by the promulgation of Gujarat Private University Act No. 8 of 2009. It is empowered to confer degrees under Section 22 of UGC Act, 1956. CHARUSAT has been awarded ‘A’ Grade (CGPA 3.11) by NAAC, Bangalore. The Knowledge Consortium of Gujarat (KCG), Government of Gujarat has also awarded ‘A’ Grade with 3.07 CGPA to CHARUSAT.
Presently, CHARUSAT offers more than 72 undergraduate, postgraduate, and Ph.D. programs under the tutelage of 8 Institutes and 6 Faculties. They are in the allied disciplines of Technology & Engineering, Pharmacy, Computer Applications, Management, Applied Sciences, Nursing, Physiotherapy, and other Paramedical Sciences.
CHARUSAT strives to transform the society through creation, augmentation, dissemination, and perpetuation of knowledge with a thrust on socially relevant Research and Development. For the purpose, a Research and Development Centre has also been established on the Campus. Uniquely, CHARUSAT has also established a Space Research and Technology Centre to initiate and foster research in Space Technology.
Since, inception in 2009, CHARUSAT has filed 18 Patents, of which 02 have been published after industrial examination. CHARUSAT has also on hand, 40 ongoing research projects of around Rs. 7.49 crore from funding agencies like DST/DBT, GUJCOST, UGC, DAE, SERI, CSIR, ABB, DNP Industry, GSBTM, CHARUSAT and many more in addition to 11 completed Projects worth Rs. 2.2 crore since 2009. It also has 52.6 lakhs Projects of Industry, Consultancy and Modrob Grants exceeding Rs. 34.5 lakhs. Presently, more than 240 Research Scholars are pursuing their Ph D from CHARUSAT. Distinctively, CHARUSAT has also initiated Post-Doctoral Fellowships, Best Research Paper Award, Patent and Intellectual Property Policy, Collaborations, and Endowment Chairs.
At CHARUSAT, efforts are also made for education amelioration in rural schools through a Rural Education Development Program. There also exists a Human Resource Development Centre to hone competencies of Faculty and Staff. Finally, CHARUSAT fosters an aspiration to be a World Class University. It strives, initially, to be in the league of Top 20 Universities at National Level. CHARUSAT wishes to achieve it through hybrid culture: a culture that represents the serenity of the oldest places of learning like Takshashila and Nalanda and the scholarly culture of the centres like Harvard and Stanford.
Courses are provided by various disciplines of Technology & Engineering, Pharmacy, Computer Applications, Management Studies, Applied Sciences, Nursing, Physiotherapy, and other Paramedical Sciences. CHARUSAT offers 5 years integrated Dual Degree program in BSc and MSc.
